Tigers Set to Close Out Home Play vs. Temple

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis volleyball team is set to host American Athletic Conference foe, Temple, for its final home games of the season on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17 and 18, at the Larry O. Finch Center in Memphis.
The Tigers (8-20, 4-12 AAC) are looking to close out their home play with a win over Temple and get back into the win column. Temple (17-11, 7-9 AAC) is riding a two-match win streak after defeating UAB in back-to-back matches last weekend.
The Owls are hitting at a .193 clip and averaging 11.9 kills per set. Temple is led offensively by Taylor Davenport with 372 kills on the season, placing her fifth in the AAC. Davenport averages 4.17 points and 3.51 kills per set.
Temple middle blocker Chelci Banks leads the team with 103 blocks on the season. Three Owls have tallied over 200 digs: Jelena Prolic (245), Avery Luoma (233) and Falanika Danielson (225).
Memphis is averaging 11.9 kills per set while putting up 1.7 blocks per set. The Tigers rank fifth in the conference in service aces, tallying 155 this season. Rylee Busse occupies second in the AAC with 40 aces on the season, averaging .41 per set.
A pair of Tigers have tallied 200 or more kills on the season so far. Clara Bednarek leads the team with 214, followed by Tabytha Toelke with 206.
Abigail Schlueter leads Memphis with 3.66 digs per set with Toelke ranking second on the squad with 2.66. Bednarek tops the Tigers with 87 blocks so far this season with Flynn following closely behind (61).
