LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 9-ranked University of Memphis rifle team fell on the road at No. 6 Kentucky on Saturday, 4723-4705. The Wildcats (5-0) won smallbore, 2344-2328, then edged the Tigers (4-4) in air rifle, 2379-2377.

"We're happy with today's match against Kentucky and the consistency that we're building," head coach Morgan Phillips said. "The whole team is contributing to the team scores that we're shooting, and I really think everyone is growing together. One of the highlights today was Sophia shooting season highs in both guns. It's great to see us having individual shooters shooting season highs and personal bests week in and week out. We're excited to get back at it tomorrow and wrap up the fall with one last home match!"

KEY MOMENTS
• Sophomore Gabriela Zych led the way for Memphis on Saturday, finishing second overall in the individual standings with an aggregate score of 1182.
• Zych won smallbore with a total of 588 and finished fourth in air rifle with a 588.
• Classmate Sophia Cruz was second on the team, placing seventh individually with an aggregate of 1176 thanks to scores of 583 in smallbore and 593 in air rifle.
• Angeline Henry took eighth overall with an aggregate of 1176. Henry led the Tigers in air rifle, placing second with a score of 596.
• Senior Jack Kersey rounded out the Tigers in the top-10 of the individual standings, placing 10^th with an aggregate of 1171.
