Woog Splits Matches at ITF W15 Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. – Memphis women's tennis fifth-year senior Monique Woog concluded play at the ITF Pro Circuit event in Jackson, Tennessee on Tuesday.

The ITF W15 Jackson event featured 32-participants in the qualifying draw, including Woog. On Monday, the Lakeland, Tennessee native defeated the overall No. 6 seed Ana Lucia De Santa in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.

On Tuesday, Woog's run ended with a 2-6, 3-6 loss to Elizabeth Ionescu. Had Woog won the match, she would have advanced into the 32-participant main draw.

Woog and the Tigers will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Knoxville for the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships, which run Thursday, Oct. 16 to Monday, Oct. 23.
