MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis football team fell to the defending AAC Champion Tulane Green Wave, 31-21, on Friday night at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.

Quarterback Seth Henigan completed 24-of-43 passes for 321 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions for the Tigers (4-2, 1-1 AAC). Wide receiver Roc Taylor notched his third-straight 100-yard game, reeling in a game-high seven receptions for 108 yards. Demeer Blankumsee had six catches for 108 yards and a touchdown, while both Koby Drake and Joseph Scates had a receiving score.

Linebacker Chandler Martin paced Memphis defensively against Tulane (5-1, 2-0), posting a game-high 11 tackles with 0.5 tackles for loss. Martin has led Memphis in tackles four times this season. Defensive back Greg Rubin had four stops, a sack and a quarterback hurry. The sack was the first in his career.

After falling behind 10-0, the Tigers stormed back, scoring the game's next 21 points to take a 21-10 lead. The Green Wave responded, however, posting 21-straight points of their own to take the win.

The Memphis Tigers will head to Birmingham, Ala. to reignite the Battle for the Bones rivalry with UAB on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Protective Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN2.
