Jan 19, 2023 | Men's Track and Field, Women's Track and Field
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis track and field teams will head to Nashville for the Vanderbilt Invitational on Friday, Jan. 20 and Saturday, Jan. 21. at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility in Nashville, Tenn. for the first indoor meet of the season.
"I'm excited to see the potential that this team has," Memphis Track & Field Head Coach Kevin Robinson said. "We've worked hard during the fall and I'm ready to see what we can bring to the table in a competitive environment. I'm looking to set some good benchmarks for us to work off for the rest of the season. This meet has a lot of competitive teams and athletes so it's going to be interesting to see how our athletes can handle the moment. One of the biggest things I'm looking for in the first couple of meets is competitive composure – how do we handle adversity."
Multi-events are slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning with running events to follow at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, action begins with the last three events of the heptathlon at 10 a.m., followed by running events at noon. Action will be live streamed both days on ESPN's SECN+ network.
