MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Following a road series win against the Cincinnati Bearcats, DH Jacob Compton has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll. Compton is the first Memphis hitter to receive this honor twice this season and third Tigers player overall.
Over Memphis' four games last week, Compton went 7-14 (.500) with a home run and four RBIs. Compton reached base at least twice in all four games and had multiple hits three times. He tied for the team lead in runs scored (4) and walks (4) as he finished the week with a .632 OBP and 1.000 SLG.
This season, Compton has been one of Memphis' top hitters. The Olive Branch native leads the team with nine home runs and 50 RBIs, the latter of which is tied for the most in the conference. Compton is third on the team with a .292 BA and paces the Tigers with a .526 SLG and 16 doubles. Compton also leads the team with 18 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI games.
