Morton Named to All-AAC Second Team

MEMPHIS, Tenn.- The American Athletic Conference has released their major awards and all-conference teams and among those listed, senior Gracie Morton found herself on the All-AAC Second Team.

Morton, a native of Burleson, Texas, started and played in all 53 games for the Tigers this season as their leftfielder and led the team with a .394 batting average. Her 65 hits ranked her second in the AAC and in the top-40 in Division I. Along with leading in hits and batting average, Morton led the team with a .539 slugging percentage and scored 33 times for the Tigers.

Morton recorded 17 multi-hit games this season with six of them coming against American Athletic Conference opponents.

This is the first AAC postseason award for Morton.

Memphis will take part in the American Athletic Conference Championship beginning on Thursday, May 12. They will take on 2-seeded Wichita State in the opening round at 1 p.m. Coverage of the game can be found on ESPN+.
