Gartman Named to AAC Weekly Honor Roll

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Following a dominant Friday night start against South Florida, RHP Landon Gartman was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll. Gartman is the sixth different Tigers player to earn this honor in 2022.
Friday night vs. the Bulls, Gartman allowed just two runs on six hits over seven strong innings in his second consecutive win. The righty-handed starter struck out six and walked three as he recorded his third consecutive quality start and fifth quality outing in his last six starts. Gartman's performance jumpstarted the Tigers to their first conference series win of the season.
On the season, Gartman is a perfect 5-0 with a 2.66 ERA, both the best marks among starters on the Tigers. Gartman has struck out 52 and walked just 16 over 47.1 innings, while opponents have hit just .161 against the righty.
Gartman joins DH Jacob Compton, 3B Logan Kohler, 2B Austin Baskin, RHP Connor Shamblin (twice) and LF Ian Bibiloni who all earned Honor Roll recognition earlier this season.
The Tigers are in action for a Monday night home matchup with Murray State, with first pitch set for 6 p.m. Memphis will head to Central Arkansas for a Tuesday battle with the Bears and continue the road trip with a weekend set at Houston.
