Mar 10, 2022 | Women's Track and Field
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis' DeeNia McMiller will return to Birmingham to compete in the 2022 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships Friday.
Competition begins at 10 a.m. Friday and will continue through Saturday evening at the Birmingham Crossplex. The women's weight throw preliminary is slated for 7 p.m. Friday, with the final immediately following.
This is McMiller's third time qualifying for the championship, despite not competing in 2020 due to the COVID-19 cancellation.
Last week, the American Athletic Conference announced McMiller had been selected as the 2022 Women's Indoor Field Most Outstanding Performance award winner. She earned the award with her 24.08m top weight throw mark from the conference championships at the end of February. The mark earned her a second-place standing in the NCAA going into this weekend.
Live coverage will stream on ESPN3 throughout the competition and a re-air will take place Sunday night on ESPNU at 8:30 p.m.
