Morton Claims Weekly Honor Roll Award

MEMPHIS, Tenn.– For the second week in a row, the Memphis Tiger softball team has placed a player on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll. This week, Gracie Morton has found herself on the list, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Morton, a senior out of Burelson, Texas, had quite the stat line this past weekend at The Evangeline Bank and Trust II Invitational hosted by McNeese State. She went 8-15 from the plate with a .533 batting average with three RBI and two runs scored. She led the team with a .600 slugging percentage and went 1-2 on stolen base attempts.
Morton kicked off the weekend going 3-4 in the team's 3-2 win over UT Arlington while also picking up three hits in the Tiger's dominating 11-6 win over Manhattan College on Saturday morning.
This is the first AAC Weekly Award for Morton this season and her third career honor overall.
Memphis (5-9) will be back in action this weekend when they host the Blues City Classic at the Tiger Softball Complex. Play start Friday morning and runs all weekend.
