No. 16 Memphis Places Seventh at GARC Championships

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 16-ranked University of Memphis rifle team placed seventh overall at the Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) Championships on Saturday in West Point, N.Y. with a total team score of 4670. No. 2 Kentucky won with a score of 4735.
The Tigers placed seventh in smallbore as a team on Friday with a total of 2317 and took eighth in air rifle on Saturday with a score of 2353.
KEY MOMENTS
• Junior Angeline Henry was the top performer for Memphis, finishing eighth as an individual with an aggregate score of 1183.
• After tying for eighth in smallbore on Friday with a score of 586, Henry qualified for the the final of the air rifle on Saturday with a score of 597.
• After qualifying sixth, Henry earned silver in the air rifle final.
• Sophomore Taylor Christian posted the team's second-best score in smallbore, finishing 26th with a 585.
• Kaylene Castillo took 43rd for the Tigers in air rifle with a total of 589, earning the second-best score for Memphis.
