MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 13-ranked University of Memphis rifle team will host No. 9 Akron on Saturday, Nov. 12 at the R.F. Fogelman Rifle Range in Memphis, Tenn. The match is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m., with live targets available at GoTigersGo.com.
"We're looking forward to hosting Akron this weekend at home," head coach Morgan Phillips said. "They have been shooting great this season, so it should challenge the team and push us. We're happy with how practice is going this week and are excited to see what we can do."
The Tigers enter Saturday's match with the Zips with an overall record of 2-4 on the season and mark of 1-3 in Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) play. Last weekend, Memphis split a pair of matches, beating No. 14 Jacksonville State on the road before falling at home to No. 4 Ole Miss.
Akron comes to Memphis with a record of 5-3 on the year overall and a mark of 2-1 in GARC action. The Zips had a four-match winning streak snapped this past weekend with a loss to No. 6 Murray State.
