Tigers Rally to Beat Temple

PHILADELPHIA – Four Tigers finished with double digit kills as Memphis defeated Temple (8-13,2-8) in five sets (25-20,19-25,23-25,26-25,15-12) on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers jumped out to a 8-3 lead over the Owls early in Philadelphia and defended a 6-1 run by the Owls to win the first set 25-20.
Temple would bounce back to win the second and third set to take a 2-1 lead over the Tigers. The Owls looked to close out with match in the fourth, going up 2-0 early but back-to-back errors by Temple provided Memphis the opportunity to take a 4-3 lead.
The fourth frame saw 20 tie scores and 11 lead changes as the Owls and Tigers went back-and-forth. Memphis pulled at the gritty set win 27-25.
For the second match, Memphis forced a fifth set. A 5-1 run by the Owls tied the frame at 10-all but the Tigers were able come out with the victory.

- Tate tied her career high with 16 kills for a second math in a row, on a .344 hitting percentage.
