Hoskins Named to American Conference All-Freshman Team

IRVING, Texas – University of Memphis volleyball freshman Zaniah Hoskins has been named to the American Conference All-Freshman Team, the conference announced Thursday morning.
Hoskins is the second Tiger to receive this honor since joining the American, joining Tiffany Snook, who won this award last season.
Hoskins led the Tigers offensively with 314 kills, averaging 3.02 kills per set this season. The Austin, Texas native put herself in the record books with the seventh-most kills from a freshman and the most since 2014, when Kate Gibson and Oluchi Agomuo put up 380 and 335 kills, respectively. Hoskins finished the season with 15 matches with at least 10 kills.
She also finished the season with 30 service aces, second only to junior libero Abigail Schlueter, who had 32.
Defensively, Hoskins recorded 228 digs averaging 2.19 digs per set, finishing second on the team behind Schlueter's 374 digs. She also logged 41 total blocks (eight solo, 33 assist) at the net.
