Tigers Wrap Up Non-Conference Play at UAB, Central Arkansas
Sep 10, 2021 | Men's Soccer
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tigers are on the road for two matches in the coming days, playing at UAB Saturday at 7 p.m. and at Central Arkansas Tuesday at 6 p.m.
With these games, the Tigers (0-3-1) are wrapping up a six-match road swing to start the 2021 campaign. Live stats are available for both matches, and Saturday's match at UAB can be seen on C-USA TV.
"With another two challenging games on the road, it is going to be our focus to take them one at a time starting with UAB," Tigers head coach Richard Mulrooney said. "We saw them play at the Ohio State tournament, and in their second game they topped a Buckeye team that got the better of us in our first match. So we know they are more than capable of playing a nice style.
"In Tuesday's match against Central Arkansas we are going to a place that is a very difficult and challenging place to play. That will be our last non-conference match before heading into American Athletic Conference action, so we will be looking to hit conference play with confidence of hopefully getting a result against a solid team."
UAB enters Saturday's game with a 1-3-0 record, with the win coming at Ohio State, and Central Arkansas is 4-1-0 including a victory over UAB.
After these two games, the Tigers will be set for the home and AAC opener on Saturday, Sept. 18 against UCF at 8 p.m.
