MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After two dominating performances this weekend, Aubrey Mister was named the AAC Rookie of the Week while teammate Haylee Spray was named to the Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced on Monday.
Mister, a freshman hailing from O'Fallon, Ill. had an impressive weekend series; in the team's 8-0 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Mister netted her first collegiate goal in the 9' to extend the Tigers lead out to 3-0. She would follow it up on Sunday against Indiana when she headed in the game-winning goal in the 49' of play off an assist from Kimberley Smit.
This is the first Rookie of the Week win for Mister.
Spray, who recorded the first of eight goals for the Tigers in their shutout win over UAPB just 66 seconds into the match, has also played a key role in Memphis' back line. Through the team's first four matches, three of them have been shutouts.
This is the second time Spray has been named to the Weekly Honor Roll in her career.
Memphis finishes out their season opening home stand when they host Kansas on Thursday night and Alabama on Sunday.
