Jaidi earns AAC 2021 Women’s Most Outstanding Field Performance award

IRVING, Texas – Memphis' Mona Jaidi has been named the winner of the 2021 American Outdoor Track & Field Women's Most Outstanding Field Performance, the conference announced Wednesday.
Jaidi is a graduate student field athlete from Bergen, Norway, and has earned the honor for her javelin throw performance at the AAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships earlier this month. She was 13th in the nation entering the NCAA East Regionals this week with her 54.65m (179-3.0) winning throw at the conference championships.
Jaidi has posted four top-three finishes in the six outdoor meets she has competed in this season. Along with her AAC javelin title, she finished first with her javelin throw at the Joey Haines Invite and third at the Crimson Tide Invite.
Along with 15 other qualifiers, Jaidi will compete in the NCAA East Regional Championships this week. The women's javelin competition will begin Thursday at 12:30 p.m.
