Hunter Goodman named to AAC All-Conference First Team

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis Tigers catcher Hunter Goodman has been named to the AAC All-Conference First Team. The preseason AAC Player of the year, Goodman was the lone Tigers' representative to earn AAC postseason honors.
Highly touted entering the 2021 season as a preseason All-American by numerous media outlets, Goodman's 2021 regular season didn't disappoint. The sophomore led the conference with 21 home runs, which tied a program record for home runs in a single season. Goodman led the conference in SLG % (.694), while his .311 batting average was 11th best in the conference. Goodman finished second in the American with 49 RBIs, 134 total bases, and led the league in runners caught stealing (22).
East Carolina's Connor Norby was named the Player of the Year, the Pirates' Gavin Williams was named Pitcher of the Year, while ECU head coach Cliff Godwin was named Coach of the Year.
Goodman and the Tigers enter the AAC Championship as the No. 8 seed and begin tournament action Tuesday against No. 1 ECU. First pitch is scheduled for 47 minutes after the conclusion of the Cincinnati/UCF game, which begins at 8 a.m. in Clearwater.
