Memphis men’s golf finishes t-5th in AAC Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Memphis men's golf shot a final round 4-over 292 to finish in a three-way tie for fifth in the AAC Championship at Southern Hills Golf Club on Sunday.
Borja Martin led the Tigers as he tied for 12th at even par 72-70-74--216 while Guillaume Chevalier tied for 17th with a 71-76-71—218. Esteban Vazquez tied for 22nd at 69-77-74—220 followed by Oskar Ambrosius (73-73-75—221) and Isaiah Jackson (75-73-73—221) in a tie for 26th.
South Florida won the AAC Championship by five shots over No. 20 SMU as the Bulls finished 17-under with a 270-292-285—847. SMU, which trailed South Florida by 17 shots after the first round, finished at 12-under 287-286-279—852. Cincinnati was in third at 8-under 289-292-275—856 ahead of Wichita State (297-279-289—865), Memphis, UCF (288-293-288—869), East Carolina (287-290-292—869) and Temple (296-302-303—901).

Southern Hills was designed by renowned golf course architect Pete Dye and opened for play in 2006. The club has hosted both PGA TOUR and Korn Ferry Tour qualifying school tournaments and has served as a Monday qualifier site for the PGA TOUR's Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor.
