Memphis Softball still looks for first conference win as the Tigers drop the DH at Tulsa

TULSA, OKLA. –Memphis softball still looking for first conference win as the Tigers drop the doubleheader at Tulsa 8-0(6) and 5-0.
Delaney Smith got her 10th steal of the season and her 75th steal of her career. She is now only three steals behind Kyler Trosclair ('15-'18) for most steals in Memphis softball history.
GAME 1
Hallie Siems got her ninth start of the season in the circle for the Tigers. Siems went five and a third inning giving up six runs on five hits. She also had two strikeouts and four walks. Kailey Hilderbrand came in relief in the sixth inning
Sophomore Chenis Delce started the game for the Golden Hurricane. Delce threw all six innings for Tulsa. She tied her season high with 10 strikeouts.
Delce got the scoring going for Tulsa in the bottom of the first. She hit a two run single to right, scoring Kylie Norwood and Haley Morgan.
After trading zeros in the second and third inning, Tulsa struck again. Norwood hit a two run RBI double to deep center field, making it a 4-0 ballgame. The Golden Hurricane added four more runs in the sixth inning. Tajiah Ellison scored on an error by Sara Ann Davidson. Then Kylee Nicks hit a RBI single to right scoring Morgan from third. Rylee Keith ended the game with a single to left scoring Aubree Seaney to give them the 8-0 win.
GAME 2
Olivia Johnson made her 15th appearance and fifth start of the season in the circle for the Tigers. Johnson went four innings, giving up five runs on eight hits. Zoey LeCompte started the fifth inning for the Tigers in the circle. LeCompte finished the game in the circle for the Tigers, going two complete innings and giving up zero runs.
Samatha Pochop got the start for Tulsa in the circle for game two. Pochop threw six innings, giving up zero runs on five hits. Kassidy Scott came in to close things out for Tulsa in the seventh
The Golden Hurricane struck first in the bottom of the second. Norwood hit a two run RBI to center then Kyndal Pirtle scored on a fielder's choice to make it 3-0. In the fourth inning, Delce hit a RBI double to center field to score two and extend their lead to 5-0.
The Tigers finished the game with six hits. Gracie Morton led the team in hits with two.
The Tigers fall to 7-26(0-10) and the Golden Hurricane improve 15-10(6-3).
Up Next
The Tigers will finish their four game conference series with Tulsa with a doubleheader Sunday. Game one is scheduled to start at 11am. Both games of the doubleheader will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
