Memphis junior defender Kimberley Smit and freshman defender Haylee Spray have been named AAC Women's Soccer Defensive and Rookie Players of the Week, respectively, the conference announced Monday. Senior midfielder/forward Lisa Pechersky was named to the weekly honor roll.
The trio helped the Tigers (6-1, 5-0 AAC) to a pair of road wins in a four-day span, winning at Cincinnati 2-0 Thursday and at Temple 2-1 Sunday. The Tigers lead the AAC with 15 points, outscoring their five league opponents 8-1, and are now unbeaten in their past 17 regular-season conference games dating back to 2018.
