The Tigers (4-11, 2-8 AAC) will be looking for revenge against ECU (7-12, 5-9 AAC) after a double-digit lead didn't hold up in the second half of their previous meeting on Feb. 6.

History with ECU
The all-time series between Memphis and ECU is tied 17-17, with ECU winning each of the last four meetings, including all three under current ECU head coach Kim McNeill. The Tigers' latest win against ECU came on Jan. 19, 2019 at Roane Fieldhouse, but Minges Coliseum has been less kind: Memphis hasn't won in Greenville since Feb. 13, 2016.
Scouting the Pirates
ECU enters the weekend after a midweek loss to Cincinnati, falling 76-61 on Wednesday while allowing a conference-record 51 points to Cincinnati forward IImar'I Thomas. The Pirates forced 27 turnovers in the contest, but they were outscored 50-30 in the paint and shot just 33% from the field. Taniyah Thompson led ECU with 19 points; Synia Johnson and Lashonda Monk also reached double figures with 11 each.
Monk is ECU's leading scorer this year (14.1 PPG) and one of three Pirates averaging at least four rebounds per game, led by Tiara Chambers (4.9 RPG). Second-year head coach Kim McNeill can still outpace last year's conference win total (six) if she can guide the defensive-minded Pirates to wins in their final two regular season games.
Among American Athletic Conference teams, East Carolina is ranked:
>>1st in steals per game (11.5)
>>1st in turnover margin (+5.79)
>>1st in turnovers forced per game (21.63)
Tracking the Tigers
Memphis' came up short in their first game under interim head coach Michele Savage on Tuesday, dropping a 72-52 decision at the hands of Tulane. The Tigers managed only 13 second-chance points on their 21 offensive rebounds and conceded 32 points on fast breaks in the loss. Freshman Coriah Beck posted her second double-figure scoring game of the season with 16 points, while senior Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu contributed defensively with nine rebounds, six steals, and three blocks.
Mendjiadeu leads the team in scoring (14.5 PPG) and rebounding (11.1 RPG), and she's the only player in the American Athletic Conference with at least 20 blocks and 20 steals this season. The Nkongsamba, Cameroon native is also the only AAC player who ranks among the top five in the league in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage (45.5%), and blocks per game (1.33). She and teammate Aerial Wilson --- who has posted a career-high 6.4 assists per game this year, the ninth-best mark in the nation --- are the Tigers' nominees for the league's Most Improved Player Award, part of the all-conference honors scheduled to be announced on March 7.
