Tigers set to take on No. 23 Ole Miss

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis women's tennis heads to Oxford, Miss. to face No. 23 Ole Miss. Match time at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The two teams last competed earlier this season in the Bulldog Kickoff hosted by Mississippi State Jan. 16-17. While no team score was recorded, the Tigers had strong showings in both doubles and singles.
In doubles, Memphis duo Sophie Abrams and Josephine Cao defeated Lillian Gabrielsen and Elysia Pool with a 6-3 set on court two. Aran Teixido Garcia defeated Lillian Gabrielsen with a 6-4, 6-2 decision on court three in singles.
On Friday, the Tigers fell 6-1 to Mississippi State in Starkville. Memphis pair Katherine Cao and Aran Teixido Garcia defeated Mississippi State duo Chloe Cirotte and Tamara Racine with a 6-4 set, but ultimately Mississippi State took the doubles point after claiming courts two and three.
In singles, Aran Teixido Garcia defeated Magda Adaloglou with a 6-4 decision in the first set but dropped the second set with a 2-6 decision. She secured the win with a 1-0 final in the third set tiebreaker.
Ole Miss recently fell to Miami 4-3. The Rebels claimed two of the singles courts and were swept in doubles.
