MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 15-ranked University of Memphis rifle team dropped a hard-fought match to No. 14 NC State on Sunday at the R.F. Fogelman Rifle Center, 4664-4642, in Memphis, Tenn.
With the setback, the Tigers fall to 0-4 on the season overall and to 0-4 in Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) action. The Wolfpack improves to 1-2 on the year and to 1-2 in GARC play.
KEY MOMENTS
• Sophomore Kaylene Castillo led the way for the Tigers on Sunday, placing fourth as an individual with an aggregate score of 1165.
• Castillo's 577 in smallbore was a season best, while here aggregate matched her season-high set against West Virginia.
• Junior Angeline Henry took fifth overall individually with an aggregate score of 1164. She led Memphis in air rifle with a score of 590.
• Sophomore Taylor Christian took fifth as an individual, posting season-best scores of 577 in smallbore and 1156 in aggregate.
• Senior David Crenshaw was sixth individually for the Tigers with an aggregate of 1153.
• Classmate Mark Meyeraan was seventh overall, setting season-bests with scores of 573 in smallbore and 1147 aggregate.
