LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 16-ranked University of Memphis Tigers rifle team fell to No. 13 Kentucky, 4717-4658, on Sunday morning at the Barker Hall Rifle Range in Lexington, Ky. For the match, UK took smallbore, 2338-2315, and air rifle, 2379-2343.
With the setback, the Tigers fall to 0-5 on the season overall and to 0-5 in Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) play. The Wildcats improve to 4-1 on the year and to 2-1 in GARC action.
KEY MOMENTS
• Junior Angeline Henry led the way for the Tigers on Sunday, posting a season-best aggregate score of 1172 to place sixth individually.
• Henry led the team in both smallbore (581) and air rifle (591).
• Sophomore Kaylene Castillo recorded her best aggregate score of the year with a 1167, thanks in part to a season-best total of 577 in smallbore.
• Senior David Crenshaw shot a season-high smallbore score of 579 for Memphis.
• Sophomore Jack Kersey took ninth overall, posting season-best totals in both aggregate (1158) and smallbore (578).
• Sophomore Taylor Christian was 10th overall with an aggregate score of 1142.
