MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 16-ranked University of Memphis rifle team was edged by No. 12 Akron, 4680-4645, in Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) action on Sunday at the R.F. Fogelman Rifle Range in Memphis, Tenn.
The Tigers (0-3, 0-3 GARC) posted team scores of 2300 in smallbore and 2345 in air rifle for an aggregate score of 4645. The Zips (2-1, 2-1 GARC) had scores of 2316 in smallbore and 2364 in air rifle for an aggregate of 4680.
KEY MOMENTS
• Angeline Henry was the top overall individual on Sunday, posting an aggregate score of 1171 thanks to totals of 584 smallbore and 587 air rifle.
• Jack Kersey was fifth overall individually with scores of 578 smallbore, 578 air rifle and 1156 aggregate.
• Kaylene Castillo finished sixth individually with totals of 568 smallbore, 587 air rifle and 1155 aggregate.
