Tigers to face Kentucky on Friday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis women's tennis resumes action as the Tigers head to Lexington, Ky., to face Kentucky. Match time at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center is set for 10 a.m. Friday.
Previously, the Tigers faced Ole Miss, Mississippi and No. 12 Georgia Tech in the Bulldog Kickoff which started Saturday, Jan. 16 and concluded Monday, Jan. 18. During the three-day event, Sophie Abrams paired with senior Josephine Cao to defeat Ole Miss duo Lillian Gabrielsen and Elysia Pool with a 6-3 set while sophomore Aran Teixido Garcia secured a singles win against Ole Miss' Lillian Gabrielsen with a 6-4, 6-2 decision.
Against No. 12 Georgia Tech, seniors Katherine Cao and Alisha Reayer defeated Gia Cohen and Carol Lee in a 7-5 win. Georgia Tech defeated Memphis, 7-0.
Kentucky kicked off its 2021 season Thursday, Jan. 21with a 7-0 win against East Tennessee State. Kentucky won all six singles matches played and both of the completed doubles matches.
