Track And Field Earns USTFCCCA Team Academic Honors

UofM is one of 11 schools in NCAA Division I to have both men's, women's teams rank in top 25.
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The University of Memphis men's and women's track and field squads earned U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team awards for 2019-20, the organization announced Friday. It is the ninth consecutive season both teams received the national honor.
The Tigers men's program posted a 3.48 grade-point average (GPA), which was tied for 17th-highest among the NCAA Division I schools that received the accolade. The women's GPA was 3.64, which was tied for 25th among NCAA Division I.

Nationally, 264 women's programs and 199 men's programs were honored for their academic accomplishments in 2019-20.
Memphis also is one of six American Athletic Conference institutions to have both its men's and women's track and field programs earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team accolades (Cincinnati, Connecticut, Tulane, Tulsa, Wichita State). Among state of Tennessee NCAA Division I institutions, Memphis was one of five schools to place its track and field teams on both USTFCCCA All-Academic Team lists (Belmont, East Tennessee State, Lipscomb, Tennessee).
Earlier this year, the Memphis men's and women's cross country teams received similar recognition from USTFCCCA for the 2019 season (link to cross country academic award release).
