MEMPHIS, Tenn. – In the season's second American Athletic Conference weekly awards list, Memphis women's soccer tallied two superlatives and an honor roll nod, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Senior Stasia Mallin was named the Defensive Player of the Week, junior goalkeeper Elizabeth Moberg was named the Goalkeeper of the Week and senior Serena Dolan was listed to the weekly Honor Roll.
Mallin opened the Tigers' two-match road trip with a goal at No. 18 Kansas, when her direct score off a corner kick gave Memphis an early lead. On Sunday's win at Omaha, Mallin anchored a backline that pitched its second shutout of the season. Monday's nod is Mallin's third Defensive Player of the Week award after claiming two last season.
Moberg tallied her fourth AAC Goalkeeper of the Week honor after registering her first full shutout of the year against Omaha on Sunday. Moberg collected her 18th career clean sheet, after facing four shots and keeping the Mavericks off the board.
Dolan notched the game-winning score against Omaha, as her second goal of the season came in the 32nd minute against the Mavericks. The defensive midfielder also helped preserve the team's second shutout of the year, as the Memphis backline surrendered just four shots against Omaha to close the road swing.
The Tigers return to action on Friday as Memphis hosts North Texas at Park Avenue Campus. Kickoff under the lights is set for 7 p.m.
