Gordon Sixth At USA Juniors Sunday

Tigers continue summer action at World University, Pan American in July.
MIRAMAR, Fla. – University of Memphis rising sophomore Tanalya Gordon placed sixth in the women's long jump at the 2019 USA Track and Field Junior Championships Sunday. The USA Junior Championships were held at the Ansin Sports Complex just outside Miami.

The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native, was sixth with a jump of 19-0 (5.79m). It was the sixth time she posted a mark of 19-0 (5.79m) or better in the outdoor season. The USA Juniors was Gordon's eighth meet since the outdoor season began in mid-March.

The Tigers track and field program continues its summer "off-season" action with Ashley Pryke (women's javelin) in the World University Games in Italy and Tate and Zachary Wyatt (men's 3000m steeplechase) in the Pan American Championships in Costa Rica. Both meets are scheduled to be held in July.
