Tigers host Cincinnati for home series finale

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – In its home series finale of 2019, Memphis baseball will host Cincinnati at FedExPark this weekend. The series opener is set for Friday afternoon at 1.

Senior Day highlights the weekend series as Memphis will honor its 10 student-athletes and student coaches prior to Saturday's game.
Memphis returns to FedExPark after a narrow 10-9 setback at Mississippi State to close the midweek slate. Cale Hennemann turned in a 2-for-4 effort in Starkville as four Tigers posted 2-RBI nights.
Earlier this week, Chris Durham and Hunter Goodman were named to the American Athletic Conference's Weekly Honor Roll as both played pivotal roles in a doubleheader sweep against USF to clinch the series.
On the mound, Durham scattered three hits across six shutout innings against USF on Sunday. The lefty struck out seven Bulls, tossed three clean innings and retired 17 of the 22 batters he faced.
At the plate against, Goodman provided the first game's lone run with his 10th home run of the season. Goodman continued the offensive surge in the second game of the day, going 3-for-5 and recording four RBI. The rookie's 60 RBI this year leads the league.
Cincinnati visits Memphis seeking to snap a four-game slide. The Bearcats were swept against ECU last weekend and dropped a 7-6 extra-inning game at Miami (OH) on Tuesday.
Joey Bellini leads the Bearcats' offense with a .296 average. Joey Wiemer has five homers on the season and ranks third on the squad with 23 RBI.
The Cincinnati pitching staff holds a 5.30 ERA with 373 strikeouts in 426 innings pitched.
Memphis leads the all-time series by a 59-39 margin.
