Ashley Threatt Earns Academic All-District Honors

Senior first baseman becomes the fifth player at Memphis to earn first team honors
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — University of Memphis senior first baseman Ashley Threatt was named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District Softball Team as announced by CoSIDA. This is the first time in her career that she has received the honor and its the first time a Memphis player has been named to the team since Lindsey Stickrod in 2017.Â
Threatt becomes the fifth player in program history to earn Academic All-District first team honors and seventh overall. In 2011, Janelle Valle became the only player at Memphis to earn Academic All-America honors.Â
A Physical Education major, Threatt graduated from the University of Memphis this spring with a 3.99 grade-point average. Threatt has plans to continue her education at the UofM as a graduate assistant in the School of Health Studies.Â
The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball and Softball Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (when selected) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
