Baylee Smith Tabbed To AAC Weekly Honor Roll

Sophomore utility player hit three home runs this week
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore utility player Baylee Smith has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for her efforts last week against Mississippi State and at the Blues City Classic. This is Smith's second nod this season to The American's weekly awards after earning Player of the Week after the second week of action.

Smith hit .429 on the week with six hits and a team-leading seven RBIs. She hit three home runs this week, including two in the home opener against SEC foe Mississippi State.

Her first home run against the Bulldogs, a three-run shot, put the Tigers up 5-2 over Mississippi State. Her second bomb of the night tied the contest at six-all.

Smith also recorded three multi-hit games this week and scored five runs for Memphis. She was also a perfect 2-for-2 on the base paths and did not record an error.

The Tigers are back in action Wednesday afternoon against Central Arkansas. First pitch against the Sugar Bears is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Tigers Softball Complex. For more information on the Memphis softball team, follow the Tigers on social media at @MemphisSoftball.
