Baylee Smith Earns Weekly Honor Roll Nod

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Memphis sophomore Baylee Smith has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for her efforts this past week to open conference play. This is the third time this season she has been recognized by the league for her outstanding efforts on the field.

Smith finished the week on a four-game hitting streak, registering a hit in every game. She hit .417 for the week (5-for-12) with a team-leading seven runs scored. In the series against ECU, Smith scored six runs including a career-high four in Saturday's 8-0 shutout victory.

Against the Pirates, Smith stole two bases, drew two walks and recorded four hits. She was also perfect in the field with seven putouts and one outfield assist in the Friday game against ECU.

Smith leads Memphis offensively this season with a .390 batting average and 32 hits. Fourteen of those 32 hits have gone for extra bases.
