Women's Basketball Set to Face Tulsa

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis women's basketball prepares for the second of three-straight home games as Tulsa comes to town. Tip-off against the Golden Hurricane is slated for 1 p.m., on Saturday. One lucky fan in attendance will get the opportunity to walk away with a free TV at Saturday's game.

The Tigers seek to even the season series against Tulsa, having fallen in the previous matchup this season on Memphis enters the weekend after dropping a tough overtime game against Tulane. After trailing by as many as 15, the Tigers fought back to force overtime, but were unable to get a last-second shot to fall as time expired. Davis is also the leading rebounder for the Tigers. The sophomore is averaging a career-high 8.2 rebounds per game, the fourth-highest mark in The American.
Several Tigers had season highlights against Tulane. Brianna Porter finished with her first double-digit scoring output of the season, notching 11 points. Gazmyne Herndon had herself a game, snaring a career-high 12 rebounds and recording four blocks. Herndon's four blocks are the most in a single game by a Tiger this season. Memphis is third in the AAC in blocked shots.

Tulsa visits Memphis on a four-game slump, falling most recently to Temple on Tuesday. Led by Maddie Bittle's 15 points, the 75-61 loss marks the fourth straight after the Golden Hurricane won its first three conference games.
Crystal Polk leads the Golden Hurricane in scoring and rebounding. The senior forward averages 13.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. Alexis Gaulden leads the team with 84 assists, and her assist-to-turnover ratio ranks seventh in the conference.
The Tigers have faced the Golden Hurricane 19 times. Tulsa grabbed a 10-9 series advantage after beating Memphis earlier this season. At home, Memphis is 5-3 all-time against Tulsa.
