All-South Region Teams
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Three Memphis women's soccer student-athletes were voted United Soccer Coaches All-South Region, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
Junior Clarissa Larisey, senior Stasia Mallin and junior Elizabeth Moberg were all named First Team selections. The trio made up the most representatives of any other school on the First Team list.
Memphis' three First Team honorees also match the most in program history. The Tigers had three representatives on the All-South Region First Team in 2009, 2011 and 2018.
"I can't be more proud of these three for this honor. This group was an important piece of our success this season, and it's rewarding to see the hard work they put in pay off," head coach Brooks Monaghan said. "I know this wouldn't be possible without the help of their teammates, and it's great to see others in our region recognize their well-deserved accomplishments as well."
Larisey, who also was named First Team All-Region last season, capped her junior year as the American Athletic Conference's co-Offensive Player of the Year. Larisey led the Tigers with 16 goals, which ranks tied for the most in a single season since 2013. The Ottawa, Ontario native tallied two hat tricks throughout the season and climbed to sixth in the program record book with 31 career goals.
Mallin made her first United Soccer Coaches All-Region team after a record-setting senior season. The First Team All-AAC selection tallied career highs in goals (3) and assists (14), which currently rank tied for fourth nationally in helpers. Her 29 career assists claimed the conference record for career assists, while also ranking third in program history. Last week, Mallin was named a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy.
Moberg also made her second appearance on an All-Region team after being voted to the All-South Region's Third Team last year. The Port Saint Lucie, Fla., native was named the AAC's Goalkeeper of the Year after posting a 16-2-1 record in net and logging a 0.53 goals-against average. Her 27 career shutouts set a conference record, while her 37 career wins in goal moved her to fourth all-time in program history.
The organization's All-America teams are scheduled to be announced Thursday evening.
