McMiller Sets School Record At Vanderbilt Invitational

Burns-Moore wins women's high jump, Persiado second in men's 200 meters.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – University of Memphis' DeeNia McMiller did it again. For the second-straight meet this season, McMiller broke her school record in the women's weight throw in Friday action at the 2019 Vanderbilt Invitational.

McMiller's throw of 66-5 (20.24m) surpassed her previous school-record mark of 65-10.25 (20.07m), which she set at the Dec. 1 Vanderbilt Opener. In that early December meet, her 65-10.25 (20.07m) effort improved her school-record mark of 65-3.25 (19.89m) that she set in the 2017-18 indoor campaign. In her last two performances, McMiller has improved her mark and school record by more than a foot.

- Saida Burns-Moore won the women's high jump with a mark of 5-7 (1.70m). It was her third career indoor high jump title and her ninth career indoor top-three finish in the event.
- Imri Persiado placed second in the men's 200 meters (21.63). It was his third top-three performance of the season after he had two third-place finishes in the Vanderbilt Opener Dec. 1.
- Samantha Lenton threw a personal-best 57-11.25 (17.66m) in the women's weight throw Friday. It improved her mark by more than four feet (53-10.5; 16.42m at Vanderbilt Opener).
- Aisha Southern ran a personal-best 25.71 in the women's 200 meters.
- Christian Hill had a personal-best 17-11.5 (54.7m) effort in the women's long jump.
- Olushola Olojo just missed tying his personal-best in the men's long jump with a 23-7.25 (7.19m) mark. His personal-best is 23-7.5 (7.20m).
