Women's tennis opens fall slate with Missouri Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Coming off its most successful spring season in the last five years, Memphis women's tennis opens its 2018-19 campaign with the Missouri Invitational.

The Tigers are slated for singles and doubles action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In addition to host Missouri, Denver and Wichita State also join the Tigers in Columbia, Mo.

Memphis opens tournament play on Friday with doubles beginning at 2 p.m. and singles starting at 3:30 p.m. Live scoring will be available at: https://bit.ly/2MqyvvK.

Memphis returns seven players from last year's squad. Juniors Josephine Cao, Katherine Cao and Claire Sullivan, along with sophomores Laura Bente, Lina Hohnhold, Kayla Klazmer and Alisha Reayer lead a youthful but experienced squad.

The Tigers also welcome two newcomers to the 2018-19 roster in freshmen Hannah Davies and Aleksandra Topalovic. Memphis is under the direction of fifth-year head coach Hayden Perez.
