Tigers resume spring season at Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate

Memphis competing for first time in a month
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's golf team, after an extended break, will return to competition Monday and Tuesday when it participates in the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate hosted by Lipscomb University.

The Tigers and 12 other programs will take part in the 54-hole event played at Richland Country Club, a 6,943-yard layout with a par of 71.

Memphis hasn't competed since finishing eighth at The Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate March 5 and 6 in Aiken, S.C. Brad Bawden, Jordan Even, Chase Harris, Borja Martin and Rodi Vlasveld will make the trip for the Tigers.  In the UofM's only other tournament, the Tigers finished fourth at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Feb. 26-27 at Hilton Head, S.C.

Martin and Harris have each shot three of six rounds under par to lead the Tigers. Martin led the Tigers with a 2-uder 214 at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate and Harris finished at even-par 210 at the Palmetto Intercollegiate.

In addition to the Tigers, Abilene Christian, Belmont, Bradley, Chattanooga, Lipscomb, Maryland, Mercer, Rice, Samford, USC Upstate and Western Kentucky will participate. Samford's coach is Al Del Greco, the former NFL and Auburn kicker.
