Burns-Moore Sets High Jump Record Saturday

DeMoss wins three titles Saturday, takes home four crowns from the two-day meet.
OXFORD, Miss. – University of Memphis' Saida Burns-Moore set a school record and Davon DeMoss took home three titles to lead the Tigers in second-day action at Ole Miss' Joe Walker Invitational Saturday.
Burns-Moore won the women's high jump crown with a school-record setting 5-10.5 (1.79m) mark. She broke the 11-year-old record of 5-10 (1.78m) held by Chen Edri.
DeMoss won the men's 100 meters and also ran legs on Memphis' 4x100 and 4x400 relays that posted first-place finishes. He won the men's 200 meters Friday. It is the first time in his career that DeMoss won four titles at the same meet.

Tigers Tidbits/Joe Walker Invitational Saturday Highlights
- Memphis took 10 titles and had 23 top-three performances Saturday.
- Saida Burns-Moore also won the women's triple jump, making her a double-winner Saturday. It is the first time she won both events at the same meet since her sophomore season at the University of the District of Columbia in the spring of 2016. Burns-Moore won the 2016 East Coast Conference outdoor titles in the high and triple jumps.
- Burns-Moore's marks in the high and triple jumps both were personal-bests.
- Jordan Wesner won the men's high jump. It was his first title – indoor or outdoor – since he won the 2017 American Athletic Conference high jump crown last May.
- Olushola Olojo won his first outdoor triple jump championship as a Tiger Saturday.
- Sandra Ekblom recorded her personal-best in the women's triple jump.
- Sir Newton Lee won the first outdoor sprints title of his career in the men's 400 meters Saturday.
- Julian Sanchez-Pinto shaved nearly nine seconds off his previous personal-best in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase.
- Michael Carey logged his second top-three finish of the season in the men's 400 meter hurdles.
