DeMoss, Lawson, Persinger Win Titles Saturday

Tigers record 10 top-three performances at SIU Don DeNoon Invitational.
CARBONDALE, Ill. – Davon DeMoss, Nicole Lawson and Aaron Persinger all notched first-place performances for the University of Memphis track and field squads in Saturday action at the 2018 Don DeNoon Invitational. Saturday's events wrapped up the two-day meet.
DeMoss won his title in the men's 60 meters in a time of 6.74, and Persinger took the men's 60-meter hurdles crown in a time of 8.18. Lawson won the women's triple jump title with a 39-2.5 (11.95m) mark.
Overall, the Tigers had 10 top-three finishes Saturday.

Tigers Tidbits/Don DeNoon Invitational Highlights (Day 2)
- The men's 60 meters title was the third of Davon DeMoss' career. He also won 60 meters crowns at last year's Music City Challenge and the 2017 Vanderbilt Opener earlier this season.
- Saturday's triple jump championship was the second of Nicole Lawson's career. She won her first title at last year's Southeast Missouri Redhawks Invitational.
- Aaron Persinger's 60-meter hurdles crown was the first of his career. He also has two 55-meter hurdles titles.
- Persinger's time of 8.18 was .02 shy of tying his personal-best (8.16).
- Paige Sandwell shattered her personal-best in the women's mile with a time of 5:03.66 Saturday. She bettered her previous-best (5:19.18) by nearly 16 seconds.
- Mona Jaidi threw a personal-best 44-4.75 (13.53m) in the women's indoor shot put. Her indoor previous-best was 44-0.75 (13.43m).
