Memphis looks to improve to 3-0 against the Redhawks
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tigers will host the Redhawks of Southeast Missouri for a Monday night matchup at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. Tip-off against SEMO is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Memphis awaits SEMO after pulling out a close 53-48 win over Samford last Sunday. The Tigers improve to 2-0 in games decided by five or fewer points this season and dating back to the 2015-16 season, Memphis is 19-2 in those close contests. Three Tigers finished in double figures, led by Taylor Barnes' 15 points. The junior guard also impacted the game on the defensive end, recording two steals. Sophomore Jada Stinson scored a season-high 10 and freshman Jamirah Shutes contributed 11 points off the bench.

Barnes is coming off of her first American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll nod after leading Memphis in Sunday's win.

Shutes continues to be the driving force for the Tigers, averaging a team-high 13.6 points per contest. She also leads the team in made three-pointers and is tied for tops in steals.

Averaging a near double-double, Davis ranks second on the team with 11.8 points per contest, and is the leader in rebounds, pulling down 9.3 rebounds a night. Nationally, Davis ranks fifth in the country averaging 5.1 offensive rebounds per game. Through nine games this season, Davis has four double-doubles, matching her total from last season.

SEMO comes to Memphis with a two-game winning streak, having defeated Illinois-Springfield before beating Evansville by a score of 54-50 last Saturday. Adrianna Murphy scored in double-figures in both contests, including a 24-point, 11-rebound double–double against Illinois-Springfield.

Tesia Thompson leads the Redhawks in scoring, netting 16.4 points per game. Thompson also leads the team in rebounding, snagging 6.7 boards per contest.

Head coach of the Redhawks is Rekha Patterson, now in her fourth season. At the helm, Patterson has led SEMO to three consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Tournaments.
