Baseball’s Annual Garibaldi’s Series Gets Underway Friday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – With the fall coming to an end, the Memphis baseball team begins its annual Garibaldi's Series on Friday at 3:20 p.m. at FedExPark. The Tigers' annual seven-game series will run from Nov. 2 until the conclusion of the fall schedule on Nov. 16.
"I always look forward to this time of year, when we have implemented the offensive and defensive systems and get to sit back and watch our guys compete in a seven-game series," head coach Daron Schoenrock said. "This yearly event is huge for evaluation. It allows our coaching staff to see our entire roster compete in certain roles to help push their team towards a championship."
The Tigers have made the most of their time this fall – spending a day training with Air Force Special Ops, working out in front of professional scouts for the annual Scout Day, playing a pair of scrimmages against Arkansas State and doing several community service projects.
The Tigers will take part in the Ronald McDonald House Radiothon on Friday, Nov. 2. Players will help out with the bucket brigade and Schoenrock will volunteer at the call center.
"It is very important to me that our guys learn what 'giving back' feels like. We always enjoy supporting the RMH Radiothon by helping with this event. It is a very small gesture for people going through tough times," Schoenrock said.
Later this fall, Memphis will release its exciting 2019 baseball schedule that features 34 home games and a home series against a Big 10 opponent.

Game 2 – Saturday, Nov. 3 – 12 p.m.
Game 3 – Tuesday, Nov. 6 – 4 p.m.
