Soccer programs earn United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis men's and women's soccer programs each earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2017-18 season as announced by the United Soccer Coaches organization Thursday.
Memphis was one of 191 schools in the nation to have both the men's and the women's programs recognized. In all, 773 soccer teams (289 men, 484 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the award for this past school year.
Thursday's award marks the 10th time the men's program has earned the Team Academic Award. Memphis finished the season with a 3.57 GPA.
The women's program has earned the Team Academic Award for 12 straight seasons dating back to 2007 and 15 seasons overall. The Tigers recorded a 3.57 cumulative GPA.
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full school year.
