Women's Golf Eighth at Jim West Challenge

Lady Tigers tee off in final round Monday at 8:30 am.
The Memphis women's golf team is eighth at the end of the opening day of the Jim West Challenge after scoring a 582 through the opening two rounds, Sunday. Memphis scored a 282 in the first round and a 300 in the second round and is four strokes out of the top five in the 15 team event.
Abby Herrmann is tied for 12that 142 (70-72). Michaela Fletcher carded a pair of even par rounds on Sunday and is tied for 21stoverall.
Freshman Victoria Gallegos is just two strokes back at 146. Gallegos tied a career-low round in the opening 18, carding a 69 and shared the opening round lead in her first event on the team entry.
Senior Sydney Colwill is tied for 58that 153 after an opening round 74 and a second round 79. Fellow senior Madison Thomas scored an opening round 71 (-1), but was DQ'd in the second round, meaning that Colwill's second round 79 was counted on Memphis' team scoring, sliding the Lady Tigers to eighth at the end of day one.
Florida State's Frida Kinhult leads the individual field at 136 (71-65). Miami's Renate Grimstad is a stroke back at 137 (72-65).
TCU leads the team competition at 567 (284-283). Florida State, Texas State, and Ole Miss at tied for second at 572.
The final round of competition gets underway Monday at 8:30 am with a shotgun start. Memphis will be paired with competitors from Houston and Miami and will go off holes eight, nine and ten for a second straight day.
