Women’s Golf Closes Fall Seventh at Jim West Challenge

Fletcher and Gallegos post top 20 finishes in final fall event.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Senior Michaela Fletcher and freshman Victoria Gallegos each carded final round 70's (-2) to post top 20 finishes at the Jim West Challenge Monday. Fletcher finished tied for 12^thwith a 214 (72-72-70) while Gallegos finished in a tie for 19^that 216 (69-77-70).

As a team, Memphis finished tied for seventh at 873 (282-300-291) with Missouri. TCU claimed the team title with an 853 (-11), one stroke ahead of Florida State.

Abby Herrmann added a top 25 finish for Memphis, carding a 76 in the final round to finish in a tie for 23^rdat 218 (+2). Sydney Colwill was the Lady Tigers' final scorer on Monday with a 75. She finished at 228 (+12), and in a tie for 59^thoverall. Madison Thomas finished with a 79 on Monday.

Florida State's Frida Kinhult fired a third round 66, the low round of the day, to claim individual medalist honors at 202 (-14). She closed the day with a five stroke win over Miami's Renate Grimstad (207).

With the completion of the Jim West Challenge, Memphis is now done with its fall schedule. The Lady Tigers will next be in action at the end of February, competing in the University of Houston's Icon Invitational Feb. 25-26.
