Tigers Secure a Top-5 Finish at the Golfweek Challenge

Final Results

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The University of Memphis women's golf team closed the Golfweek Challenge in fifth place on Tuesday at Caledonia Golf Course.

The Tigers carded a 14-over-par 298 in the final round for an 18-over-par 870 total. The performance ties the eighth-lowest 54-hole score in program history, a mark last set at the 2015 Fall Invitational.

Nutsanun Khamphueng led Memphis, shooting a final-round 3-over-par 74 to tie for fifth place at 1-over-par 214 and set a 54-hole career low by one stroke. Pavarisa Jongpipittaporn followed with a 1-under-par 70 on Tuesday to finish tied for 14th at 3-over 216, setting a career-low 54-hole total of her own.

In her collegiate debut, Maddie Smith tied for 36th at 7-over-par 220 after closing with a 77. Sirichaya Chanpen also shot a final-round 77 to tie for 57th at 12-over-par 225, while Claire Todd rounded out the lineup tied for 108th at 25-over-par 238 (81).

The Tigers return to action Oct. 3 at the Yale Invitational in New Haven, Connecticut.
