Tigers Volleyball: Get To Know Smith

Tigers freshman was a two-time All-Metro pick in high school.
It's just one day from the University of Memphis volleyball team's 2017 season opener. The Tigers begin play Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. (CT) vs. Bradley in the Eastern Illinois Panther Invitational.
In preparation for the 2017 season, GoTigersGo.com is introducing this year's newcomers. Today's "Get To Know Me" is Joze Smith, a freshman defensive specialist from Millington, Tenn. Although a two-time Commercial Appeal Best of the Preps/All-Metro pick, Smith admits she's had several embarrassing moments on the court. As a child, she also took dance and Taekwondo. However, the sport many think she plays (soccer), she's never done so competitively.

- When others see you around campus (excluding close friends), do they know you play volleyball? Or do they think you play another sport? They think I play soccer because I'm 5-3 (LOL!)
