Women’s Golf Tied for Lead at UNF Collegiate

Lady Tigers share team lead with Old Dominion.
MEMPHIS – The Memphis women's golf team is tied for the team lead at the UNF Collegiate, hosted at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club in Florida. Memphis fired an opening round 296 and a second round 300 to finished the day at 596. Old Dominion is tied with the Lady Tigers atop the team standings after back-to-back 298s. The two teams are two strokes ahead of Campbell at the end of day one.
Two Lady Tigers are in the top 15 at the end of Monday's play. Senior Leighann Cabush fired an opening round 72 and followed that with a 75 to finish the day with a 147, good for a tie for sixth overall. Cabush birdied two of her final four holes to finish the day at +3.
Michaela Fletcher made a big move from the first to second round, following an opening round 78 with a second round 70, allowing her to jump 35 spots in the individual standings. Fletcher birdied four of five holes between one and five on the course and a bogey on her final hole of the day sent her to the locker room with a -2 and to a tie for 11th overall.
Madison Thomas had a strong opening round, carding an even par 72 in her morning round. But the afternoon pushed her scores up, finishing with an 80 in the second round for a 36-hole 152. She is currently just outside the top 25 in a tie for 28th overall.
Sydney Colwill saved her one birdie in the second round for the final hole of the day to give herself some momentum heading in to Tuesday's third round. Colwill fired an 80 in the opening round, but shaved five strokes off that for her second round 75 and a 155 score that has her tied for 42nd overall.
Emily Goldenstein finished her first round at +2, eagling 14 and adding birdies on 8 and 14. She birdied 14 again on her second round, but added a pair of doubles and ended her second round with an 82 for a 156 and a tie for 46th overall just one stroke behind Colwill.
Abby Herrmann is also competing in the event as an individual. She posted an 82-81 and will start her third round on Tuesday from her tie for 74th in the overall standings.
Old Dominion's Sana Tufail leads the field after back-to-back 70s on the opening day of the event. She holds a two-stroke lead over Campbell's Annelie Sjoholm.
Memphis be paired with both Campbell and Old Dominion on Tuesday. Tee times will begin at 8:30 a.m. (ET) and the Memphis team entries will go off between one and three. Abby Herrmann will go off of 17.
