Lady Tigers tie with Southern Miss atop team standings.

MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis women's golf team finished the second day of play as tournament co-champs with Southern Miss at the UNF Collegiate, Tuesday. In their second tournament of the spring, the Lady Tiger golf team posted its second top two finish. Memphis fired a third round 299 to finish in a tie with Southern Miss at 895, one stroke ahead of Old Dominion and Dayton State College and two strokes ahead of fifth-place Campbell University.

Michaela Fletcher was Memphis' leading finisher, carding a third round 76 to finish at 224 (+8) for the second event of the spring. In her first season back from injury, Fletcher has now posted back-to-back top 15 finishes after finishing as tournament runner up at the 2017 Central District.

Leighann Cabush scored a 226 (+10) over the 54-hole event to finish in a tie for 21^st and teammates Madison Thomas and Sydney Colwill finished tied for 28^th overall with a pair of 227s. Colwill carded her lowest round of the tournament on Tuesday, posting an even-par 72.

Emily Goldenstein was Memphis' fifth scorer, coming back from a second round 82 with a third round 76 to finish tied for 43^rd overall at 232.

Freshman Abby Herrmann competed at the event as an individual and also saved her best round for Tuesday, carding a 78 to finish at 241 (+25) and tying for 72^nd overall.

Old Dominion's Sana Tufail led the tournament wire-to-wire, winning individual medalist honors with a 213 (-3) following a Tuesday 73 at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. Daytona State College's Jiwon Jeon finished as runner up with a 215 (-1), the two golfers to finish under par in the two-day event.

Memphis will have a short turnaround before its next event, competing at the 3M Augusta Invitational, Mar. 17-19 in Georgia.
